Students will have so much fun as they begin to explore movement and rhythm! They will develop posture, coordination and creativity with a variety of different dance styles.

Combo Ballet/Jazz

Students will have so much fun as they begin to explore movement and rhythm! They will develop posture, coordination and creativity with a variety of different dance styles.

Combo Acro/Jazz

Students will have so much fun as they begin to explore movement and rhythm! They will develop posture, coordination and creativity with a variety of different dance styles.

Classes for Ages 6 to 8

DOWNLOAD SCHEDULE

Ballet

is the foundation of all forms of dance. This class focuses on overall body alignment and awareness with emphasis on proper usage of feet and legs and execution of turnout. Carriage and usage of upper torso and arms are also stressed. Students will learn ballet technique, including body placement, alignment, flexibility, grace, and strength.

Contemporary

is a fusion of ballet, jazz, and modern techniques. This class is for students with little to no contemporary dance experience.

Tap

will emphasize the development and strengthening of basic tap technique and terminology highlighting the importance of rhythm and sound. Tap focuses on rhythms and intricate footwork, creating a percussion instrument out of the dancer’s feet.

Jazz

is an exciting and ever evolving dance form. Dancers will be taught proper technique in various movements such as kicks, jumps, leaps, isolation movements, and turns. A strong technical foundation enables a dancer to focus on the stylistic and performance aspects of dance.

Acro

Students will work on floor tumbling skills with an emphasis on flexibility, agility, balance, and strength. Tumbling skills start with the basic rolls, cartwheels, handstands, etc. As students progress, more advanced movements will be taught such as handsprings and aerials.

Musical Theater

is a fun, high energy class incorporating theatrical elements of acting, improvisation, and “Broadway” style song and dance. Students must have at least one year jazz experience prior to enrolling. Musical Theatre dance encompasses jazz style dance as well as tap for those with tap experience.

Skills

Strengthen core alignment, flexibility and strength.
